Gentlemen, start your engines….

We are just two months away from our 30th anniversary season and we could not be more excited!  With a warm winter we are expecting an early ice out.  What does that mean?  Well, for starters it means that as soon as we open the fishing should be rocking.  Right from the start.  I think our guests know that as May reservations are stronger than they have ever been.

Lots of exciting news for sure.  If you have not been receiving our email newsletters or have not Liked us on Facebook you would have missed several big announcements.  This June we will have both Babe Winkleman AND Al Lindner filming shows at the lodge.  Two of the most famous fishermen in the world filming within 2 weeks of each other.  We could not be more excited.  And this year Al will be heading out to several of our out-lakes to see just what all the fuss is about.

We are in the final stages of getting ready for the open.  We have ordered another new Lund SSV for the out-lakes, more engines, a new 3-seater ATV with power winch (as last year we just loved the new one), beds, furniture you name it.  We are in the final stages of locking down our staff which looks to be excellent.  We have also undertaken several major infrastructure projects.  The kitchen is being gutted and a new hood with fire suppression system being installed as I type this.  Also, we re-leveled cabin #2 which was nearly a foot off.  Major work for sure but it looks great.  Needed to be done for sure.

Speaking of cabin #2 we look to have solved the hot-tub issue.  It was nearly 20 years old but I think we have sourced the parts and should be able to get that up and running. Electricians have been in over the winter wiring more cabin decks so we can add even more hot-tubs as time allows.  So you should see some of those springing up each summer.

New St. Croix rods have been delivered along with matching reels.  A whole slew of new tackle and I found a fly company that makes the most realistic mayfly flies I have ever seen.  So, I grabbed plenty of those to stock our shelves.  Wait till you see them.  Look just like the real thing.

We also plan to enhance the out-lake maps.  We purchased a portable GPS fish finder and plan to update all out-lake maps with better depths and charts making it easier for all of us to find fish!

We still have a couple of days left in June which is unheard of if you would like to join us.  I will be out of the country and unavailable between March 11-24 so please leave a message or an email and I will get back to you as soon as I walk in the door.

Looking forward to seeing new and returning friends this summer!
