Much of the weather is behind us, although as I type this it of course is raining. The bass spawn is essentially done, with a few nests here and there but not many. Bass are now starting to hit top-water which is a great sign. We have had several scattered mayfly hatches which keeps us on our toes for sure.
Water temperatures on the main lake are hovering around 70, which is where they should remain until the fall. With all of the water (we are up 12 inches in the past 2 weeks alone) there are plenty of mosquitoes in the evening so bring your bug spray for sure. Walleye are scattered but that being said we have 217 walleye 27 inches or larger with a 33 inch monster caught a few days ago.
With summer finally here (we hope) walleye fishing should pick up.
We are nearing the end of our sold out streak from the open and stating at the end of July finally have a few open cabins for those looking to come up. Give us a shout.
